Windlesham And Great Fosters Wedding Preview

A Windlesham church and Great Fosters sunny Summer wedding

Juliet Mckee Photography

Yesterday I captured Tom and Laura’s wedding at St John The Baptist Church Windlesham, and afterwards at beautiful Great Fosters Hotel.

Laura and I had chatted by phone about the weather forecast. There is no doubt it was looking decidedly tricky with rain forecast for much of the day. However, there was a glimmer of hope that by early evening we would have sun and I’m pleased to say it all came together beautifully.

I arrived at Laura’s parents’ house where she was having her hair and makeup completed by Sharon Roberts and Carolanne Armstrong, two of my favourite recommended suppliers. Just to complete the ‘A’ team, Fairy Nuff Flowers Steph had delivered the most beautiful and highly scented bouquets of pinks, mauves and cream. All fabulously coordinated with the bridesmaids frocks. Laura’s Maggie Sottero lace frock had an absolute wow factor!

I skipped on to the church where Tom and his groomsmen were eagerly awaiting the arrival of the bride.  The church was looking beautiful and the aisle flanked by olive trees. It was a lovely service and I particularly loved the couple’s choice of hymns (I may have joined in just a little).

Afterwards we travelled the short distance to Great Fosters in Egham. The weather certainly provided us with some challenges. Getting our group shots completed was a bit of a game of cat and mouse with the rain, but I managed to tick off everything on my list which was great. Although I don’t often display many group shots on my blog, they are such an important part of a couple’s day. An historical document and a photograph I never mind capturing.

I took a chance and held off on Tom and Laura’s couple’s shots, and put all my faith in the nice people at the Met office, and they did not let us down. As promised the sun came out and I scooped the couple up (leaving dessert forks hanging), and whisked them outside for some dreamy and quite frankly beautiful  ‘golden hour’ photographs.

Tom and Laura, what a pleasure it was. Here is just a small-ish selection of what was an exceptional day. Enjoy! J x
