A little look at what’s new and what’s in store for the year ahead.
Well 2015 has got off to a cracking start with Jade and Bevan’s gorgeous ‘Old Skool’ wedding from last September being featured on Rock My Wedding today. It was such a beautiful wedding bringing together my ‘A Team’ of favoured suppliers. Hairdresser Sharon Roberts, Make Up artist Carolanne Armstrong and florist Gayle at Bloomin’Gayles. The country setting, Jade’s floral crown, vintage frock, the old school hall reception….all so fabulous. Go take a look!
When you plan your dream wedding, remember it’s not about how much money you spend, but about creating a day that personifies who you are as people. This is what made Jade and Bevan’s day so perfect, meaningful and also so achievable. Surround yourself with suppliers who you totally trust. Take a really good look through their portfolio and if you love what they do, let them create a look for your day. Creatives are constantly evolving and your look will be completely unique.
2015 Wedding Trends
One of the best developments in recent times has to be the creation of Pinterest. I can literally waste hours flicking through fabric designs, dreamy photography, and planning decor for my fantasy kitchen extension. 😉 Oh how I wish it had been around when I was planning my own wedding. It has its critiques, don’t get too carried away thinking every element of your big day has to be Pinterest worthy, but if you want ideas it’s great. You can also create a board for your wedding and see how all the things you like come together.
Being the closet stylist that I am, I have put together a Pinterest board of 2015 Wedding Trends. It’s packed with rose gold, glitter, soft pastel, corals, peaches and blush, and chalky seaside tones, seafoam and slate. All so pretty. You’ll also find other trends to look out for such as wedding food; pickle bars, tasting stations, all manner of food wagons. It’s all about choosing food that you love and which quite literally reflects your taste. Incidentally, you will also find my Pinterest contains other boards I’ve created including what to wear for your engagement shoot, bouquet and floral ideas, and another full of delicious and stylish wedding cake ideas. You are also very welcome to pin images from Juliet Mckee Photography, you will see pinable images have a little green heart when you hover over them.
The Year Ahead
So on to the year ahead. It’s looking like another busy yet fulfilling time with yet again absolutely super couples. My diary is filling and I’m really looking forward to all the creative opportunities, not to mention the lovely people I will get to photograph. My ‘wedding season’ doesn’t officially start until March, but I’ve still plenty to do right now. Handling enquiries, meeting future bride and grooms, completing and bringing my editing schedule up to date, keeping my website relevant and ensuring my portfolio shows just what I have to offer. I’ve also been working with a couple of magazines recently on up and coming features, and I can’t wait to see those in the months ahead. It’s always exciting to know your work will be seen by many many future bride and grooms, and I know my couples love being featured. So much to look forward to.
If you are a 2015 bride and groom, I wish you all best for this very special year of your life. Oh and if you are a 2016 bride and groom, do please get in touch, it’s never to early to book your wedding photography.
Happy 2015 everyone.
