A Black Tie Outdoor Wedding At Pennyhill Park

A Stylish Black Tie Outdoor Wedding At Pennyhill Park Hotel

Yesterday I headed back to my local venue Pennyhill Park to document Sara and Richard’s fabulous black tie wedding day. After the prolonged heatwave, it turned out to be a bright and breezy day for their outdoor ceremony, without the intense heat of recent days. The occasional gust of wind added a little extra drama at times, but the rain stayed away. I’m minutes from the hotel and it hasn’t stopped raining here today, so they were super lucky. The Pavilion looked glorious decked out in florals by White Lilac Flowers.

I started coverage by taking some shots of Sara and her mum getting ready.  Sara chose a beautiful halter gown with pockets by Barcelona bridal house Jesus Peiro, paired with Valentino Rockstud leather pumps. She wore her shiny brunette locks flowing and loose with gentle waves, and the overall effect was sophisticated and sassy. Keelie and Jade from White Lilac created two bouquets for Sara; a white peony, and a powder pink rose, and Sara chose the rose. Either would have looked great, but the powder pink added just that touch of contrast with her dress.

The couple had Toastmaster and Pennyhill regular Michael to keep things running smoothly, and just before 1pm, guests were ushered down the steps to the pavilion. Sara and her dad made a spectacular arrival with her mum and friend rushing to aid her keep control of her veil in the breeze. I have no idea how Richard felt as he watched his bride to be make her way down the steps, but I should imagine he was pretty speechless. It was a beautiful heartfelt ceremony, with a reading by Richard’s dad, and afterwards there was confetti, fizz, beer and canapés.

With the wind still providing plenty of fun, we decided to to take the group shots but leave the Sara and Richard’s couple’s shots until after the wedding breakfast. In the Summer months, it’s good to be able to do this if the forecast allows. The light in the early evening really is my favourite, and after a meal and a drink, couples are always far more relaxed. I took the couple down onto the golf course, and it was a moment for them to chat, and for me to take some beautiful portraits.

This was such a lovely day, and I’ve really enjoyed getting know Sara and Richard who are off on their honeymoon tomorrow. So without further ado, here is your preview! Have an amazing time. J x
