Jus & Mike – Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding

A Colourful Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding With Routemaster Tour and Elegant Reception At The Ivy Tower Bridge

Yesterday I had an amazing time documenting Jus and Mike’s London wedding at the Old Marylebone Town Hall, and what a day! There was so much joy and good feeling, and it was wonderfully colourful and fun to shoot too.

Jus and Mike are another of my couples who sadly had to postpone their original wedding due to the wretched ‘C’ word. It also meant having to change the plans they had made from a large Seizincote House wedding, to something smaller and more intimate. It was also important that their new plans didn’t feel like a similar but smaller version of the original wedding, so the couple thought up something completely different. A chic city wedding with their ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall, a London Routemaster tour with oodles of Champagne, a stylish reception at The Ivy (Tower Bridge), then later drinks with friends at the Prosecco House.

It was a full on day, the weather was playing hardball, but it was also a great wedding to photograph. Jus and Mike’s families are absolutely lovely, and I really enjoyed chatting with them in between taking photos. The ceremony was beautiful (and emotional). For various reasons, actually getting to the ceremony in one piece was a remarkable achievement for these two (they could write a book about the lead up to their big day). Then later the speeches were extremely funny and well executed, as well as touching. One of those occasions when I’m glad to be able to hide my face behind the camera (lots of dust in my eye type of thing). 🙂

The private dining room at The Ivy was beautiful; the green and white Hydrangea flower arrangements were so fresh and pretty with the decor, and the views to Tower Bride, Tower Of London, and the Thames absolutely fabulous.

Later we managed to pop outside for some more group shots with a backdrop of Tower Bridge, before walking along the riverside to the Prosecco House.

I loved the vibrancy of this wedding which seemed to reflect the happiness of the day. I also LOVED Jus’s bespoke wedding dress by Lebanese designer Gemy Malouf, which Jus chose because she felt it represented both their cultures. I must also give a big shout out to Jus’s maid of honour and bridesmaids. They looked so fab in their pink dresses, did a fantastic job of supporting Jus, and were brilliant company on the bus (and so thoroughly nice)!

Jus and Mike, it’s been a pleasure getting to know you since we first chatted about your wedding plans, and I’m so chuffed you finally got to have your wonderful day. Congratulations and enjoy your previews. J x
