A Wedding At The Mapledurham Estate In Berkshire

Yesterday I captured Kate and Chris’s wedding day at St Michael’s church in Tilehurst followed by their wedding reception at the Mapledurham Estate. It was a beautiful, fun and typically English wedding. Oh yes and a huge hurrah, we had sun! 🙂

I began photographic cover at Kate’s mum’s house where final preparations were underway. Kate looked absolutely stunning in her duchess satin dress teamed with Irregular Choice white lace shoes.  The bridesmaids wore forest green frocks and statement gold jewellery which looked contemporary and elegant. The wedding flowers of soft pinks and whites also had an amazing fragrance courtesy of Rose and Jasmin and smelled divine.

Photographic cover at St Michael’s church was sadly limited, but I was able to capture some wonderful moments after the ceremony with possibly the longest confetti line I’ve ever know. The sun shone and guests were happy to chat and have their photographs taken whilst waiting to travel on by Routemaster to Caversham Pier. From there a river boat took them along the Thames to the Mapledurham Estate, a beautiful Elizabethan mansion house and watermill 4 miles west of Reading.

Kate and her family had organised the wedding in just 6 months and did an amazing job with preparation and styling. I loved all the signs, hat pegs, table flowers and chilli jam favours. There were hula hoops, space hoppers and croquet for guests young and not so young, who were also entertained by a superb jazz band with their take on modern hits!  Guests dined on canapes and BBQ meats and salads with a dessert of Eton Mess, washed down with lashings of Pimms! Later large quantities of cheese and Port were consumed whilst guests enjoyed the speeches. It was also my first opportunity to work alongside Rachael from Lovestruck Weddings who coordinated the day with hard work and skill.  All in all a terrific day and I really don’t think Kate and Chris could have hoped for more. It was just perfect.

Kate and Chris thank you for asking me to capture such a momentous day for you. Here is your preview. J x
