A Gorgeous Classy Summer Wedding At Great Fosters
I’m so delighted to be able to share this gorgeous classy wedding with you today. This was the first of two weddings I shot at Great Fosters this year, unashamedly my favourite venue. I had a fantastic couple and a brilliant team of suppliers along for the ride, so it was a dream of a day.
When I first met Laura and Tom they made it very clear to me that they felt uncomfortable in front of the camera. They and many others, couples say it all the time! This is never a barrier to us working together though, it’s my job to make a couple feel comfortable and I pretty much guarantee it will all be fine! We arranged to meet up for an engagement shoot to break the ice, and it was really useful in terms of me getting to know them and for them to see how I work. It can be pretty intense having someone point a camera at you, and some prefer to ignore me whilst others like more direction. I’m happy either way.
I was chuffed to receive this feedback from Laura after seeing her next day preview. “We are absolutely thrilled with the photos – they are incredible, I really can’t express over email how happy we are and how lovely the photos are. We had such a wonderful day and it was so nice to see the preview whilst sitting on the terrace at great fosters reflecting one the day with our families. As you know we aren’t naturals in front of the camera so I’m thrilled to have some nice photos!! Our families are also very impressed and we have had lots of compliments about how lovely the preview is and how great you were to have around on the day.” Laura
So I must just mentioned some of the team involved with making the day so special. Of course the ‘A Team’; Carolanne Armstrong on makeup, and Sharon Roberts on hair. Then amazing blooms by Steph and co at Fairy Nuff Flowers. You could not wish for a better team! We’ve all worked together many times and it makes the whole experience not just for us, but most importantly the bride and groom so easy and relaxed.
After capturing Laura and the bridal party’s final preparations at the family home, I travelled on to St John’s in Windlesham to photograph Tom, his groomsmen, and the ceremony. I’ve photographed a couple of weddings at this beautiful church before, but sadly on this occasion I was asked to stand at the back throughout the ceremony. Fortunately this did not stop me documenting this really important moment in their life. We are all just there for the couple and want the very best.
After the ceremony we all travelled on to Great Fosters. The Tithe Barn was looking so pretty, and the Painted Bar provided a warm, dry and refreshing spot to shelter from the rain. Between the showers we managed to get out onto the terrace to take some formal shots as well as plenty of lovely candids. Mr Weatherman promised me a sunny dry evening, so we took a punt on taking Laura and Tom’s couples shots later after the wedding breakfast. I shan’t deny a few nerves, but the weather forecast was spot on and we were blessed with the most beautiful August sunset.
Laura and Tom, thank you for your wonderful feedback, it really was a fabulous wedding to photograph. Wishing you years and years of happiness and love. J x
After the wedding breakfast and the speeches, the sun finally came out and I took Laura and Tom back outside to capture some beautiful sunset imagery.
