An elegant and sunny outdoor wedding at the Four Seasons Hampshire
Leanne and Michael had a brilliant day yesterday at the Four Seasons hotel in Hampshire. This beautiful Hampshire hotel is the perfect setting for a wedding at any time of year, but is particularly good for fine weather weddings. Apart from 500 acres of parkland, including lakes brimming with wildlife, there’s also a 16th century walled garden for marriage ceremonies and outdoor receptions. Planning an outdoor ceremony in this country can be a little hit and miss (we can literally get ‘four seasons in a day’), so Leanne and Michael absolutely struck gold with the weather.
I started the day with Michael and his groom’s party who were heading to the terrace for a drink before the ceremony in the walled garden. Once they headed off to the walled garden to meet the guests, I went to see the bride and her party as they put the finishing touches to their wedding look.
Leanne and the girls looked so beautiful. Leanne chose a fitted lace frock from Californian couture house Enzoani. This was worn with an additional ‘A’ line satin skirt worn for the ceremony and part of the day. Later she was able to remove the skirt to create a different evening look. Her wedding attire was completed with ballet pink Jimmy Choo ‘Dochas’ with jewel trim, and a pretty cream bouquet from the Fine Flowers Company.
The bridesmaids wore on trend blush pink with matching shoes, and carried complementary bouquets of cream and pink. They all looked stunning, and the colours were perfect for a sunny wedding.
With guests assembled, the bridal party made their way to the walled garden, the registrar and guests, and an emotional groom! It was a beautiful ceremony with two fantastic personal readings from the couple’s friends, and ended with a dazzling confetti exit.
After group shots we made our way in the hotel’s 4×4 down to the lakes for some bride and groom portraits. As always, this is a moment for my couples to spend some time together on their big day, and Leanne and Michael enjoyed the breather and a moment to reflect on their day so far. A wedding day is so filled to the brim with special moments, as well as reunions with friends and family, but it’s so important to connect and take some time out to be together. I’ve never known a couple not enjoy this short time away, and it’s fair to say we had fun!
After portraits, Leanne and Michael hitched a ride on a Four Seasons golf buggy, while Ashleigh (the videographer) and myself headed back in the 4×4. The guests were all ready assembled in the ballroom and received the bride and groom with an exuberant welcome. After great speeches (so funny), and a delicious wedding breakfast, the cake was cut and the dancing began.
The couple had planned the staging of their evening reception so well. They had a sparkling dance floor, dry ice and sparkulars provided by Farnham Sound & Light, and top DJ and saxophonist Dan Goode just to top it all off. With a great first dance, and a boys vs girls sing-off to Grease hit ‘Summer Lovin’, the reception was absolutely buzzing.
This was such a great day to shoot, and I’m sure everything this lovely couple had hoped for. It was also my second Four Seasons wedding and I hope not my last. The staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant and took great care of myself and Ashleigh.
