Laura & Sundeep – Colourful Wedding

A Colourful Froyle Park October Wedding

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of documenting Laura and Sundeep’s colourful Asian fusion wedding at Froyle Park Country Estate near Alton in Hampshire. It was a colourful wedding with wonderful people who shared love, friendship, and cultures, and the rain just could not spoil it!

Both Laura and Sundeep got ready at the venue, so it was nice and easy to pop between the two to capture some final preparation shots. This was a real family wedding with the couple’s children involved throughout the day, as you will see. It made for some super fun and seriously cute photographs!

Laura looked so beautiful with her hair and makeup by Suzanne Dusek, sparkly shoes by LK Bennett, and a delicate cream bouquet. The atmosphere was laid back and relaxed with Laura pitching in to get little Evie ready for her big day! Meanwhile Sundeep and his son Sachin were getting ready with the boys down the corridor. They looked fantastic in their colourful traditional dress with Sundeep sporting a fabulous blue velvet Sherwani coat and shoes with intricate gold embroidered detail, and cream ivory silk kameez.

Everything was ready for their ceremony in the great hall with more fabulous cream flowers by Fiona Curry, and twinkly candles lining the aisle, and a harpist playing contemporary music. The ceremony began with a traditional Punjabi Milni ceremony. The name Milni translates as ‘coming together’, and so the members of Sundeep’s family exchanged flower garlands with Laura’s family. Following this the couple made their vows with Sachin playing the important role as Best man and ring bearer, and Evie providing support and encouragement throughout! 🙂

Following the ceremony we headed off for some bride and groom portraits. The rain didn’t let up for a minute, but we found some lovely locations indoors. Froyle Park is blessed with great light, a covered area with plenty of day light, and a plethora of pretty sofas for some intimate and beautiful couple’s portraits, so we were pretty spoilt. When planning your wedding, make sure you consider the indoor space at a venue as you never know what the weather is going to do. Froyle Park has some beautiful outdoor areas, but you’ll see that actually what’s most important is not the backdrop, but you and your loved ones and all ‘the feels’ of your day.

The wedding breakfast took place in the ballroom. The meal included a celebratory butter chicken, Palak Gosht, Kofta and Daal. Then the couple’s beautiful semi naked wedding cake (by Designer Cakes By Elle), provided the perfect dessert with flavours of zingy lemon, cherry Bakewell, and white chocolate and vanilla. It went down very well, so I had to try some to see what all the fuss was about. 😉

The first dance was especially memorable as the couple were joined by a little guest, much to everyone’s delight. I left shortly afterwards and the party was just getting started!

This was such a lovely day to photograph. Laura and Sundeep both have such lovely welcoming families, and the most beautiful children. I wish them both a lifetime of love and happiness.
