So here is my wedding photography roundup of 2016 and first of all I just want to say thank you for visiting and taking a look. I know you have a plethora of wedding photography websites you could be looking at right now, so it means a lot to me that you’ve stopped by!
What a year it’s been for us all! As we look back on the year and this whole #2016; we’ve had some tough times and brace ourselves for more going forward, the world is in turmoil and many are suffering, and we’ve lost friends and family and so many icons that have meant a great deal to us all.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t always feel like this post was going to happen. I thought about it for several weeks and kept putting it off. I mean my wedding photography isn’t really up there when compared to all that’s going on in the world right? In the end though I looked through this collection of photos and felt I had to share them. Whilst they are my personal favourites, they mean a huge amount to those who feature in them, my couples and their friends and families. These weddings were an intensely happy and hugely important days in their lives. Despite world problems, despite personal struggles, despite loss, we will always need each other. The world is a far less scary place to inhabit when you are loved and have someone or something to love. So I want to celebrate all that is positive and just love in general. OK, enough soppyness, you get my drift.
A huge thank you to all my super couples who’ve allowed me along for the ride. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have worked with so many truly lovely brides and grooms, as well as their kind and generous families. I’ve laughed with you, I’ve suppressed sobs of emotion from behind the camera, and I’ve tried my very best to reproduce all that was wonderful about your special day. I’ve been blown around and frozen and I’ve been sunburnt. Travelled far to shoot weddings and travelled a few minutes down the road. I’ve borrowed my husband’s brand new car to go to a wedding and got it stuck in a muddy field (sorry dearest). I’ve shot at a posh London hotel and literally been forced to eat a three course meal including a dessert with gold leaf. It’s a hard life!
Thanks to everyone, including friends and family, for your continued support and I really do wish you all health and happiness in 2017.
