I’m just back from a fab day at the airport. My other half entered a draw at work to win tickets to the 2015 Discover BA Day and rather wonderfully won! He usually works in the control tower, so this was a chance for him and us to see a different side of things. If you’re interested in what he does you can take a look inside Heathrow ATC tower in my earlier post here. This post is a selection of shots from today’s open day, and if you’re a plane fanatic this will make you very happy! You might even spot the new A350 with its kick-arse winglets! 🙂
I’ve always had a real fascination with Heathrow. I grew up in Staines and often watched the planes from my bedroom window many years before I ever flew. I used to love flying but sadly these days have developed a rather pesky phobia, so it’s a case of only if I really have to! However, I still find anything to do with behind the scenes fascinating, and it was great to take a look around a plane without the fear of an imminent takeoff!
If you’re not into planes but like a bit of British jazz, there’s something for you too! I’d love to say my husband arranged for Jamie Cullum to perform for our wedding anniversary (today), but I have British Airways to thanks for that. What an amazing performer!
What a great day, absolutely loved it. Thanks British Airways. Enjoy!
Looks like a brilliant day! Great photos that really capture the atmosphere x
