A blue and white DIY Themed Great Fosters Wedding With Bunting Origami And Button decorated cake
Back at the beginning of October I returned to the historical and very beautiful Great Fosters near Egham for my second wedding there of the season. As you will see, Nicky and Chris were blessed with perfect weather for their day, and after the ceremony in the Orangery, they were able to make full use of the beautiful gardens before their wedding breakfast in the Tithe barn.
The couple, both designers, absolutely filled the hotel with amazing decorations, many of which they had made themselves. This went beyond your average DIY wedding though. I have never seen the Orangery and Tithe barn look so pretty. Much of the decor had been placed by Chris that morning. Pale blue, duck egg and white bunting. Twinkly fairy lights that gave a whole new luminescence to the ordinarily dark Tithe barn. Origami flowers carefully fashioned from selected magazine pages, romantic novels, hand sewn heart favours and a button themed delicate blue wedding cake, all reflected the couples personalities interests and skills. I love their choice of white flowers including Love In The Mist with the addition of Sea Holly and a blue ribbon for Chris’s button hole. Nicky’s ‘something blue’ came in the form of a blue satin sash and her something borrowed a delicate buckle brooch borrowed from a friend.
For me the best thing about this wedding was Nicky and Chris themselves. They were an absolute joy to photograph. From beginning to end they utterly personified happiness, love, euphoria and excitement. It’s so obvious, but it’s great to see a couple really relax and enjoy their wedding day so much!
“We looked through the photographs last night and they are amazing, so pleased with them, thank you for capturing the day so perfectly.”
Nicky and Chris, it’s been an absolute pleasure. J x

Only cousins could get away with pulling faces like these behind a bride’s back. Thanks for being such a good sport! I love this. 🙂
